This involves infilling the garage door opening with a new wall and window, raising and insulating the floor, insulating the walls and ceiling to Building Regulations, damp proofing, and bringing in heating, electrics and ventilation.
A new garage build puts a detached or attached garage together from scratch, covering everything from groundworks and a reinforced concrete base, brick or block construction, a flat or pitched roof, up and over or roller doors, through to electrics and lighting. Both options are generally achievable under permitted development.
Permitted development allows for a garage of up to 4 metres in height including the pitched roof, or 3 metres if the garage sits within 2 metres of a boundary, meaning no planning permission is needed.
